BEIJING (Asian Metal) 13 Jun 06 – The chrome metal price hikes up in China, as suppliers raise quotation to as high as RMB130,000-140,000/t (USD16,250-17,500/t before rebate) .
A trader based in Liaoning province who claimed holding tens of tons of Cr metal 99% offered RMB138,000/t at first said, “We won’t sell under RMB130,000/t (USD16,250/t before rebate).”
As there are still orders waiting to be fulfilled until late June, producers need not worry about distribution, close sources reasoned. Though consumers seem to hesitate accepting such high prices, producer and trader sources for the moment do not plan to adjust the price lower .
Meanwhile, Cr ore prices keep firming up in the Chinese market, with traders active in importing and selling raw materials.
