Inquiries for arsenic trioxide increase in China

BEIJING (Asian Metal) 5 Nov 07 – There are more inquiries for arsenic trioxide coming to the Chinese market, close sources reported to Asian Metal.
“The market has become active in these two weeks, and we have sold around 100t of arsenic trioxide,” said a producer, adding that the price of arsenic trioxide 99%min remains low and stable at RMB4,200-4,300/t (USD564-577/t) delivered to Huangpu port.
According to the source, the export price of arsenic trioxide is around USD610-620/t FOB Huangpu port, which does not go up.
The arsenic trioxide market is likely to remain stable in the coming weeks, predicts the source.
A trader confirmed that more inquiries come to the market, but the price of arsenic trioxide is not pushed up accordingly. “We concluded two containers of arsenic trioxide 99%min at USD650/t CIF Malaysia, but the price is stable compared with that in the summer,” said the source.
The source forecasts that the market may remain steady, because foreign buyers are unable to accept high prices.
Some suppliers reported that they will push the price up, but most participants believe whether the price goes up depends on the demand.
