Yabao Sichuan's battery grade lithium hydroxide project put into operation

On April 26, Yabao Sichuan New Material Co., Ltd. began production at its 50,000tpa lithium hydroxide project located in Meishan, Sichuan.
The project includes two production lines with a total capacity of 50,000tpa of battery grade lithium hydroxide monohydrate, the raw material for lithium battery cathode material, lithium-based grease, lithium bromide refrigerator absorption liquid, as well as some other lithium salt products.
As Albemarle's largest fixed investment in China, the project, when fully operational, would achieve an annual production value of RMB5 billion (USD690 million) and is expected to power more than 1.5 million NEVs and cut carbon dioxide emission by 100 million tonnes during the battery service life.
According to schedule, about 10,000tpa of production capacity would come on stream this year, with expected production value of around RMB1 billion (USD138 million).
