57-bln-yuan silicon materials projects to break ground in Baotou

On April 3, Baotou municipal government reached agreements with two companies to build silicon materials projects at Damao Zero Carbon Industrial Park.
Qinghai Lihao Semiconductor Material Co., Ltd . plans to invest RMB25 billion (USD3 . 46 billion) in a 200,000tpa high purity crystalline silicon and 250,000tpa industrial silicon project, which will be developed in two phases, each with planned production capacities of 100,000tpa of high purity crystalline silicon and 125,000tpa industrial silicon.
The other project, with a total investment of RMB32 billion (USD4.42 billion) from Yingfa Holding Group Co . , Ltd . , has total planned production capacities of 40GW of single crystal pull rod, 20GW of wafer and 20GW of high-efficiency crystalline silicon photovoltaic cell, which will be built in three phases . According to plan, the phase one will produce 10GW of single crystal pull rod, 5GW of wafer and 5GW of high-efficiency crystalline silicon cell, phase two will produce 20GW of single crystal pull rod, and the third phase will produce 10GW of single crystal pull rod, 15GW of wafer and 15GW of high-efficiency crystalline silicon cell annually.
