60ktpa lithium carbonate project breaks ground in Hunan

Hunan Zijin Lithium Polymetallic New Material Co., Ltd. recently broke ground on its 60,000tpa lithium carbonate project in Daoxian, Hunan.
As one of the top ten industrial projects launched in Hunan this year, the project will use lithium ore from Xiangyuan lithium polymetallic mine project located in Daoxian to produce lithium carbonate, with a total planned investment of RMB5.86 billion (USD810 million). The phase one of the project, with investment estimated at RMB3.13 billion (USD432 million), would cover a land area of around 600Mu (40 hectares) and is expected to commence production in June 2025, with a production capacity of 30,000 tonnes per annum of lithium carbonate. The phase one would achieve an annual operating revenue of nearly RMB4 billion (USD553 million), along with tax revenue of around RMB500 million (USD69.12 million), and would help create over 1,500 local jobs.
