GEM's Indonesian nickel project completes basic engineering

GEM's Indonesian nickel project achieved production of 3,400 nickel metal tons of MHP in In January 2024. The company has completed basic engineering of the Indonesian nickel project which is ready for equipment installation and expected to begin production of nickel metal in three phases, each with capacity of 21,000tpa, by June 2024. In addition, the joint venture project between GEM and MDK, with a production capacity of 30,000tpa of nickel metal, is scheduled to go into operation in September 2024.
On February 21, a pep rally was held to boost construction of GEM's Indonesian nickel project as the company aims to put it into operation as scheduled. Furthermore, the company expects to complete construction of a 30,000tpa high-nickel ternary precursor project in June 2024.
