EIA approved for Zhundong's first aluminum production residue recycling project

The environmental impact assessment (EIA) for a solid waste recycling project developed by Xinjiang Runlin Environmental protection Co., Ltd. has been reviewed and approved by Xinjiang Department of Ecology and Environment, paving the way for the first aluminum production residue recycling project to break ground in Xinjiang Zhundong Economic and Technological Development Zone.
With a total investment of RMB850 million (USD119 million), including RMB37 million (USD5.12 million) for environmental protection, the project will upgrade the existing harmless disposal system to solid waste recycling system. When completed, it is able to recover high value-added lithium metal from aluminum production residue which is then turned into concrete brick and refractory materials.
