China publishes new standards for copper and aluminum scrap processing industry

China's Ministry of Industry and Information Technology published the latest standards for copper and aluminum scrap processing industry to guide the high-quality development of copper and aluminum scrap processing, distribution and utilization industry and improve the level of fine treatment and direct utilization. The new standards will take effect from January 1, 2024.
According to the new standards, copper scrap processing companies should have a plant area of at least 15,000 square meters with annual processing and delivery capacity of no less than 50,000 tonnes, and aluminum scrap processing companies should have a plant area of at least 30,000 square meters with annual processing and delivery capacity of no less than 100,000 tonnes.
