Sinomine announced that the 2 million-tonne-per-annum (2Mtpa) petalite upgrade and expansion project and 2Mtpa spodumene project at Bikita lithium mine in Zimbabwe have both achieved stable production at full capacity following equipment installation and trial production.
At full capacity, the 2Mtpa petalite upgrade and expansion project is expected to produce 300,000tpa of chemical grade petalite concentrate, and the 2Mtpa spodumene project would produce 300,000tpa of spodumene concentrate. The two projects will further boost Sinomine's supply capacity of lithium concentrate and help the company achieve self-sufficiency in raw materials for lithium salts production.
