Quzhou Huayou releases EIA for high-purity nickel projects

The Environmental Impact Assessments (EIA) of three high-grade nickel projects developed by Quzhou Huayou Cobalt New Material Co., Ltd. have been released for public disclosure.
The company plans to invest about RMB717 million (USD97.99 million) to build the 30,000tpa high-purity nickel project, using mixed hydroxide precipitate (MHP) as the raw material, at Zhizao New Town in Quzhou. When fully operational, the project will add annual production of 30,000 metal tonnes of nickel sulfate, 2,249.72 metal tonnes of cobalt sulfate, 5,087 metal tonnes of manganese sulfate solution, 47,100 tonnes of anhydrous sodium sulphate and 20,400 tonnes of magnesium sulfate.
The company also plans to build a low carbon emission project with production capacity of 30,000tpa high-purity nickel project at Zhizao New Town. When completed, it would produce 20,000 metal tonnes of nickel sulfate, 10,000 tonnes of electrodeposited nickel, 1,800 metal tonnes of manganese sulfate, and 50 metal tonnes of scandium oxide annually.
Another project to be built at Zhizao New Town is the 20,000tpa high-purity nickel project, using high-grade nickel matte as the raw material.
