Zijin Mining to lead development of world-class lithium mine in DRC

Manono Lithium, a joint venture between Zijin Mining's overseas unit Jinxiang Lithium and COMINIERE, has obtained the exploration right (PR15775) for the eastern area of Manono lithium mine in DRC, which is one of the biggest lithium rich Li-Cs-Ta pegmatite deposits ever discovered in the world.
According to the agreement between Jinxiang Lithium and COMINIERE, Jinxiang Lithium will lead the development of the project, including geological exploration, construction and operation management. The project would begin construction within two years after the feasibility research and financing plan are finalized, and a lithium smelting industry park will also be built at the same time. The products from the project will be first supplied to local downstream companies in DRC.
