Weifang Energy's Mn-based cathode material project begins construction

On October 16, Weifang Energy broke ground on its 100,000tpa Mn-based cathode material project in Dalong, Guizhou.
The company signed contact to invest RMB2 billion (USD274 million) to build the project in Dalong Development Zone this April. The project, with a planned land area of 300Mu (20 hectares) in total, will be developed in two phases and mainly produce Mn-based cathode material for sodium-ion battery. When fully completed, the project is expected to achieve production value of RMB4 billion (USD548 million) and generate tax revenue of at least RMB200 million (USD27.39 million) annually, creating 260 jobs.
