Fengxin Shidai begins production at 30ktpa lithium carbonate project

Fengxin Shidai New Energy Materials Co., Ltd. has commenced production at the 30,000tpa lithium carbonate project, the phase one of its lithium battery material project located at Fengxin Industrial Park in Yichun, Jiangxi. The investment for the first and second phase of the project is around RMB2.54 billion (USD347 million) and RMB4.54 billion (USD622 million) respectively.
The phase one with capacity of 30,000tpa of battery grade lithium carbonate broke ground in late October 2022 and was basically completed in early July 2023 following nine months of construction. The phase one project started commercial production this September.
Fengxin Shidai is a wholly-owned subsidiary of Tianyi Lithium, a joint venture between Canmax Technologies (75%) and Contemporary Amperex Technology (25%).
