Jiayuguan Juda Smelting to build 100ktpa HC ferrochrome project

The Environmental Impact Assessment (EIA) of 100,000tpa HC ferrochrome project developed by Jiayuguan Juda Smelting Co., Ltd. has been released for public opinions.
According to the EIA, the company plans to build the project in Jiayuguan Jiabei Industry Park with a total investment of RMB253 million (USD34.45 million). The project includes upgrading existing circulating pool, dismantling the current 20,000tpa HC ferrochrome production line, and building two 33000kVA submerged arc furnaces and associated power system for an annual production capacity of 100,000t of HC ferrochrome. Phase one of the project will build one furnace and the power system and phase two will build the other furnace and environmental protection equipment.
