On September 7, Sinomine's Bikita mine in Zimbabwe began to deliver the first batch of 10,000t of spodumene concentrate to China as the raw material for Sinomine's 35,000tpa battery lithium hydroxide and lithium carbonate project, which is currently under construction.
This shipment of spodumene concentrate indicated that Bikita mine can now achieve a stable supply of the raw material and is on track to supply 60,000tpa of lithium carbonate equivalent (LCE) to Sinomine by the end of 2023.
Bikita mine is located in Masvingo, Zimbabwe. A total of 65 . 42 million tonnes of lithium ore resources (1 . 84 million tonnes of LCE) in the inferred, indicated and measured categories has been discovered at the eastern and western regions of the mine to date.
