Guangxi University team achieves breakthrough in scandium oxide purification

A research team from Guangxi University announced successful production of 10kg of high-purity scandium oxide (99.999%) after developing a more efficient and easier approach to purification, a breakthrough in key technology for rare earth purification in China.
The team has signed a RMB6.5 million (USD901,350) deal with Guangxi Guosheng Rare Earth New Material Co., Ltd., an affiliated company of China Rare Earth Group, to cooperate on scandium oxide purification project.
