Xinjiang Kasteel to add iron and steel production capacity

In accordance with relevant guidelines and implementation measures issued by the State Council, the steelmaking and ironmaking capacity replacement scheme by Xinjiang Kasteel Group Co., Ltd. was made public by the Industry and Information Technology Department of Xinjiang Uygur Autonomous Region.
The company plans to add ironmaking capacity of 1.04 million tonnes per annum (Mtpa) and steelmaking capacity of 1Mtpa through a capacity replacement program where Xinjiang Hegang Steel Co., Ltd. will shut down ironmaking and steelmaking capacity of 610,000tpa and 400,000tpa respectively.
