Xinjiang Qiya submits EIA of 200ktpa silicon metal project for approval

On July 27, Xinjiang Qiya Silicon Metal Co., Ltd. submitted the Environmental Impact Assessment (EIA) of its 200,000tpa silicon metal project for approval.
According to the EIA, the project will be located inside the Zhundong Industry Park in Xinjiang with a construction period of 18 months and a total investment of RMB2.51 billion (USD351 million). The project will build 16 submerged arc furnaces of 33000kVA for a total production capacity of 200,000tpa of silicon metal, mainly Si-4210 subject to national standard (GB/T2881-2014).
