China's Zhengzhou expects no steel plants by late 2025

Henan has issued the three-year action plan on improving ecological and environmental quality for the 2023-2025 period. According to the plan, the iron and steel industry in Henan will be further centralized and there will be no steel plants in Zhengzhou by the end of the period. The province supports developing circular economy industrial parks in Changge and other regions to promote green and high-end electric furnace short-process steelmaking. The province also vows to curb high energy-consuming and high-emission projects.
