Bagang's Dunde Mine technical upgrading project breaks ground

The 4.5Mtpa technical upgrading project at Dunde Mine owned by Xinjiang Bagang Mining Resources of Baowu Group broke ground on July 15.
With total investment estimated at RMB2.1 billion (USD292 million), the project will build a new dressing plant with capacity of 3 million tonnes per annum (Mtpa) and a tailings pond. Together with the existing 1.5Mtpa dressing plant, the total ore dressing capacity of the mine will reach 4.5Mtpa. The project also include engineering construction such as mine expansion, ventilation, power supply and distribution, and other safety systems. Upon completion, the project would produce 1.8Mtpa of iron concentrate, 54,000tpa of zinc concentrate and 4,100tpa of gold concentrate with annul production value expected to reach nearly RMB1.6 billion (USD223 million).
The project has got necessary permits including the mining license and EIA approval to begin construction.
