Jigang Group Fugang Metal to replace steel production capacity

In accordance with relevant guidelines and implementation measures issued by the State Council, the steelmaking capacity replacement scheme by Fugang Metal Manufacturing Co., Ltd. of Jigang Group has been made public by Jilin Provincial Department of Industry and Information Technology.
According to the public disclosure, the company will close two 100-ton electric furnaces with combined capacity of 1.5 million tonnes per annum (Mtpa) for replacement as it plans to build a new 50-ton electric furnace with capacity of 360,000tpa of alloy steel. Under the replacement, Heyuan Derun Steel Co., Ltd. plans to build a 100-ton electric furnace with capacity of 750,000tpa. Both the planned furnaces are expected to begin construction in August 2023 and become operational in August 2025. The remaining capacity of 390,000tpa is for later use.
