China's alumina output up by 2.3% YoY in Jan-May

Data released by the National Bureau of Statistics (NBS) showed that, in May 2023, China produced about 7.01 million tons of alumina, down by 4.7% YoY. Meanwhile, it produced about 3.42 million tons of primary aluminum, 5.43 million tons of aluminum products and 1.21 million tons of aluminum alloy, up by 1.1%, 4.1% and 15.1% YoY respectively.
From January to May, China produced a total of about 33.51 million tons of alumina, 16.71 million tons of primary aluminum, 24.63 million tons of aluminum products and 5.36 million tons of aluminum alloy, up by 2.3%, 3.4%, 4.0% and 15.9% YoY respectively.
