Guangdong Zhongnan Iron & Steel Co., Ltd., a subsidiary of Baowu, reported a 106% achievement in production of steel products for the first quarter of 2023, with iron-steel ratio down to 810kg/t from 840kg/t. First quarter sales increased by 691,000t from the year-ago period and high-quality steel sales accounted for 10.8%.
In the first quarter, steel products shipments were about 2.05 million tonnes, with daily shipments averaging 23,000t and peaking at 33,300t. Rail shipments reached 437,800t with a monthly average of 146,000t, which hit a historic high. The direct discharging rate of steel scrap also hit a record high of 78.52%.
