East Hope (Sanmenxia) Aluminum restarts full operation

BEIJING (Asian Metal) 25 Apr 23 - East Hope (Sanmenxia) Aluminum Co., a major alumina producer in Henan of China, restarted full operation from the middle of April and might produce over 180,000t this month, a source from the company reported to Asian Metal.
"We resumed full operation from the middle of this month and would produce over 180,000t this month," said the source, adding that the volume would reach over 200,000t next month and they hold no stock now. For the tight bauxite supply, the refinery could not reach full operation over the past few months.
With five production lines and the total production capacity of 2.5 million tonnes per year, they produced close to 500,000t in Q1 this year and around 1.8 million tonnes in 2022.
Current mainstream prices for alumina 98.5%min in north China keep at RMB2,880-2,900/t (USD418-421/t) EXW, unchanged from late last week. The alumina supply in north China remains sufficient weighing on the price.
