Zhejiang Sansheng to reduce cobalt sulfate output

BEIJING (Asian Metal) 25 Apr 23 - As one of the major cobalt sulfate 20.5%min producers in Zhejiang, China, Zhejiang Sansheng Chemical Co., plans to reduce its cobalt sulfate 20.5%min output by 150t MoM to around 200t in April 2023, according to a source from the company.
"Discouraged by soft demand and dropping prices from consumers, we plan to produce only around 200t of cobalt sulfate 20.5%min this month, while our production in March recorded about 350t," said the source.
Established in 1996, Zhejiang Sansheng Chemical Co. owns an annual production capacity of 5,000t of cobalt sulfate 20.5%min. The company's outputs in 2022 and so far in 2023 recorded approximately 4,600t and 1,300t respectively. It holds an inventory of around 120t now, up by 20t MoM.
The current cobalt sulfate 20.5%min mainstream prices in Zhejiang, China hover at RMB34,000-36,000/t (USD4,933-5,223/t) delivered D/A 180 days, in line with late last week.
