At present, the mainstream prices of Chinese vanadium pentoxide flake 98%min stand at RMB112,000-114,000/t (USD7.5-7.7/lb V2O5) EXW D/A 180 days, down by RMB1,000/t (USD0.1/lb V2O5) from late last week. Considering that few buyers would like to add inventory and the negative market mentality continues, insiders believe that the mainstream prices of Chinese vanadium pentoxide flake 98%min would keep declining in the coming week.
"As vanadium nitride prices kept moving down during the past week, no buyers would like to purchase vanadium pentoxide flake 98%min at any prices above RMB112,000/t (USD7.5/lb V2O5) EXW D/P now," said a trader in North China. They last sold 32t of vanadium pentoxide flake 98%min at RMB113,000/t (USD7.6/lb V2O5) late last week. Prices of ferrovanadium 50%min they inquired dropped to the latest around RMB115,000/t (USD33.7/kg V) Delivered D/A 180 days. Considering that terminal users couldn't offer any effective support, they predict that the mainstream prices of Chinese vanadium pentoxide flake 98%min would drop to around RMB105,000/t (USD7.1/lb V2O5) in the coming week.
With a regular trading volume of 100tpm, they expect to sell about 100t this month, almost the same volume as last month, holding no inventory for the moment, down by about 32t MoM.
"We could easily find enough goods in spot market at prices no more than RMB112,000/t (USD7.5/lb V2O5) EXW D/P for the moment, but we prefer to watch the market as prices may drop further," said another trader in South China.
