AMG plans to produce lithium carbonate

BEIJING (Asian Metal) 21 Apr 23 - AMG Brasil S.A., a major spodumene producer in Brazil, plans to build factory in Brazil to produce lithium carbonate 99%min and aims to start trial production in early 2024, according to a source from the company.
"We plan to set up factory in Brazil to produce lithium carbonate 99%min. We aim to start trial production in early 2024 and intends to produce around 15,000t of lithium carbonate 99%min in 2024," said the source.
Founded in 2006, AMG Brasil S.A. is the biggest spodumene producer in Brazil and owns a current annual production capacity of 90,000t. The company plans to enlarge production capacity in 130,000t from this Q3. Its spodumene outputs in 2022 and so far in 2023 recorded approximately 90,000t and 30,000t respectively. It doesn't hold stock at present, in line with one month ago.
The current mainstream export prices of spodumene 5.5%min declined to USD4,280-4,300/t FOB Brazil, a decline of around USD300/t from one week ago.
