Bayi Ferroalloys stopped the production of HC ferromanganese

BEIJING (Asian Metal) 19 April 23 - As a major producer of ferromanganese Mn 65%min, C 7% max, P 0.25% max, S 0.03% max in China, Guangxi Bayi Ferroalloys Co. stopped their production in April, a source from the company revealed to Asian Metal.
The source stated, "Because of high production costs, we stopped our production of ferromanganese Mn 65%min, C 7% max, P 0.25% max, S 0.03% max since early April and estimate to produce nothing this month", adding that they still have not decided when to resume production.
The producer, based on the annual production capacity of 100,000t of HC ferromanganese, produced around 2,000t last month. They have no inventory now.
The present prevailing prices of ferromanganese Mn 65%min, C 7% max, P 0.25% max, S 0.03% max in China stand at RMB5,950-6,150/t (USD864-1893/t) EXW D/P, down by RMB150/t (USD21/t) from late last week. Based on the thin profit, insiders believe that the prevailing prices of Chinese HC ferromanganese would stay unchanged in the following days.
