Shache Hengchang resumes lead concentrate

BEIJING (Asian Metal) 18 Apr 23 - Shache Hengchang Smelting Co., ltd., a major lead concentrate 40%min producer in Xinjiang, resumed production of lead concentrate in late last month with the output of 2,000 metal tons in April.
"Due to shortage of raw materials and environmental inspection, we suspended production until the end of last month and would produce about 2,000 metal tons in April," a source from the company stated to Asian Metal. They would probably keep the same production next month.
Their mines are located in Tibet and their dressing plant in Xinjiang. The ore contains nearly 0.5kg of silver per ton, the average grade of lead concentrate could reach 40%min and sell to Henan-based smelters and traders in Shanghai. The producer, with an annual production capacity of 50,000 metal tons of lead concentrate, totally produced about 16,000 metal tons in 2022, holding no inventory now. Since this year's production cycle is only eight months, they are aiming for the same annual production as last year.
On Monday, the mainstream TCs of lead concentrate 50%min stood at RMB800-900/metal ton (USD116-131/metal ton) delivered today in Xinjiang, unchanged from last week. Due to the slack season of end consumer market in spite of tight supply of concentrate, insiders believe that TCs of lead concentrate 50%min would keep flat in forthcoming days.
