Chinese calcined bauxite export market sees stable demand

BEIJING (Asian Metal) 17 Apr 23 – After the inactive buyers activities in previous month, the export market sees stable demand in the past two weeks
An exporter in Tianjin disclosed, "We kept our prices for calcined bauxite Al2O3 86%min 1-3mm Fe2O3 1.8%max K2O+Na2O 0 . 35%max B . D . 3.15min stable from early this week at USD480/t FOB China without discount". Their last deal dated back to early last week when they sold around 200t to Europe at USD480/t . Considering the stable overseas demand and firm domestic prices, they plan to hold their price uncahnged and hold the belief that the mainstream export prices of Chinese calcined bauxite would flatten in the forthcoming week.
The exporter, with a typical monthly trading volume of 600t, expected to export about 600t in April, unchanged MoM. They have no stock at present.
Another exporter in Shanxi quoted USD440/t Ex-VAT FOB China for calcined bauxite Al2O3 86%min 1-3mm Fe2O3 1.8%max K2O+Na2O 0 . 45%max B . D . 3 . 15min max and could give no discount at all, unchanged from early this week. "We just signed a new deal of 180t at USD440/t with a European client early this week", the exporter disclosed . Given that their overseas buyers' demand has been stable, they would hold firm their prices and believe that the prevailing export prices of Chinese calcined bauxite would keep stable in the following week.
With a regular monthly trading volume of 500t, they predict to sell about 400t in April, on par with March. Currently they have no inventory.
