Chengliang Alloys to put zinc alloy production equipment into operation

BEIJING (Asian Metal) 14 Apr 23 - Yunnan Chengliang Alloys Material Co., Ltd., one of major zinc alloy producers in South China, resumes to run two new furnaces in late April and predicts to produce about 2,000t of zinc alloy in April.
"Our company currently operates three furnaces, with the zinc alloy production of around 1,700t in March. We plan to run two new furnaces in late April and expect that the zinc alloy output will reach about 2,000t in April. At that time, we will operate five furnaces", a source from the company noted, adding that their zinc alloy production is expected to reach around 2,500t in May.
The company, with an annual production capacity of 50,000t of zinc alloy and five furnaces in total, commenced commercial production since November 2022, and holds about 200t of zinc alloy ingot stocks for the time being.
On Thursday, the mainstream prices of zinc die-casting alloy Zamak-3 in South China hovered at RMB22,370-22,570/t (USD3,257-3,286/t) EXW, down by about RMB20/t (USD2.91/t) from Wednesday. Given the current weak demand in zinc die-casting alloy market, the sales pressure on producers appears higher, and insiders predict that the TCs of Chinese zinc die-casting alloy would remain relatively stable in the coming week with declined prices.
