Chinese ferrosilicon 75%min prices stable

BEIJING (Asian Metal) 14 Apr 23 - In consideration of inactive market but high raw material prices, the current prices of Chinese ferrosilicon 75%min 200-500mm stand firm at RMB8,000-8,200/t (USD1,164-1,193/t) EXW D/P. Even though the magnesium price increasing, insiders hold the view that the mainstream prices of Chinese ferrosilicon 75%min would keep steady in the coming week given weak demand from the downstream.
A consumer from Shanxi disclosed, "The best price for ferrosilicon 75%min 200-500mm we received from yesterday stood at RMB8,100/t (USD1,178/t) Delivered D/P with a freight of RMB100/t (USD15/t)". They didn't purchase today and last purchased 500t at RMB8,000/t (USD1,164/t) late last week. As the consumer predicts the mainstream prices of Chinese ferrosilicon 75%min would remain stable in the coming week in view of weak demand from the end market and firm prices from most suppliers, they would keep purchasing as scheduled.
Based on the annual consumption capacity of 36,000t, the consumer expects to consume about 1,500t in April, in line with last month. They hold the inventory of nearly 300t currently and consumed around 4,500t in the past three months.
Another consumer in Shanxi mentioned that the most competitive price of ferrosilicon 75%min 200-500mm they received today stood at RMB8,100/t (USD1,178/t) EXW D/P and suppliers stuck to this price from yesterday. "We didn't purchase today since we purchase ferrosilicon 75%min from hand to mouth and last purchased 300t at RMB8,000/t (USD1,193/t)", revealed the consumer, who believes that the mainstream prices of Chinese ferrosilicon 75%min would stay flat in the coming week for weak demand from the end market.
The consumer, with the consumption capacity of 18,000tpy, predicts to consume around 900t in April, on par with March. They consumed nearly 2,700t from January to March and have around 100t in stock at the moment.
