Lingbao Xinling Lead prepares to build a new electrolytic lead ingot plant

BEIJING (Asian Metal) 13 Apr 23 - One of major lead ingot 99.994%min producers in Henan, Lingbao Xinling Lead Co., Ltd., plans to build a new lead ingot plant this year and will put into production in commission in September.
"Our new electrolytic lead ingot plant would put into production in commission in September with an annual production capacity of 200,000t, twice as much as now. Our monthly consumption of lead concentrate would expand from about 7,500 metal tons now to nearly 25,000 metal tons by then," the source from company to Asian Metal, adding that they would maintain output of 7,000-8,000t a month until September.
They mainly purchased domestic lead concentrate as raw materials, and the rest of the raw materials were imported through traders. They totally produced about 85,000t lead ingot in 2022 and around 21,000t this year to date, holding no inventory now.
On Wednesday, the mainstream prices of lead ingot 99.994%min stood at RMB15,020-15,220t/ (USD2,185-2,214/t) EXW in Henan, up by RMB 20/t (USD2.9/t) from yesterday. In view of slack season in terminal market but tight supply of lead concentrate, insiders predict that prices of lead ingot 99.994%min would keep flat in the following week.
