Aoyu Graphite to restart production

BEIJING (Asian Metal) 12 Apr 23 - Heilongjiang Aoyu Graphite Group Co., a major flake graphite producer in northeast China, is scheduled to resume operation from the middle of April and might produce over 1,000t this month, a source from the company reported to Asian Metal.
"We plan to restart operation soon in the middle of this month and might produce over 1,000t in April," said the source, who would restart 3 production lines at first and holds no stock now. They once shut down operation from early December last year for the low temperature in winter.
Based on six production lines and the total production capacity of 100,000tpy, they produced around 40,000t in 2022.
Present mainstream prices for flake graphite -194 keep at RMB4,520-4,720/t (USD657-686/t) EXW, down by RMB50/t (USD7/t) from late last week because of the sluggish demand. After winter, producers from northeast China would restart operation in April.
