Chinese tin solder suppliers held pessimistic attitudes to the market

BEIJING (Asian Metal) 12 Apr 23 - Most suppliers of tin solder held negative views towards to market due to weak demand during the past month. As the prices of raw materials went down and many of tin solder producers held their TCs stable, the prices of tin solder decreased today. The current mainstream prices of Chinese tin solder Sn 99.3%min Cu 0.7%max stand at RMB193-195/kg (USD28.0-28.4/kg) EXW D/P, down by around RMB1/kg (USD0.15/kg) from yesterday. Discouraged by lackluster deals, insiders predict that the mainstream prices of Chinese tin solder would go down this week.
"Most of our downstream clients are export-oriented business, many of them in the state of suspension since late last year. As a result, we are currently almost in a state of shutdown," a producer in Hebei disclosed. They could consider accepting the price as low as RMB193/kg (USD28.0/kg) EXW D/P for tin solder Sn 99.3%min Cu 0.7%max but didn't close any deal due to no inquiry. For the same reason, they didn't conclude any deal yesterday when they offered about RMB194/kg (USD28.2/kg). They added that they started a new business because of the lack of demand and they estimated that the mainstream prices of Chinese tin solder would go down this week.
The producer, based on an annual production capacity of 800t. They plans to produce about 5t this month, in line with last month, holding no inventory for the time being.
Another Jiangsu-based producer reported, "Actually, our production of tin solder halved YoY as the market demand went soft. Thus, we held a bearish view to the market". They could consider accepting the price as low as RMB195/kg (USD28.4/kg) EXW D/P for tin solder Sn 99.3%min Cu 0.7%max and sold around 2t at such price. While they sold about 3t at nearly RMB196/kg (USD28.6/kg) with no more concession yesterday. Dragged by declined export orders and weak domestic demand, they predicted that the mainstream prices of Chinese tin solder might go down in the forthcoming day.
With an annual production capacity of 1,800t, the producer plans to produce about 80t this month, unchanged from last month, recording no stock now.
