Global stainless steel production down by 5.2% YOY in 2022

According to the data released by the Worldstainless, the global crude stainless steel output in 2022 recorded 55.255 million tons, a year-on-year decrease of 5.2%.
In 2022, the production of stainless steel in Europe posted 6.294 million tons, a decrease of 12.4% year-on-year; the output in the United States was 2.017 million tons, down by 14.8% YOY; China's stainless steel production reached 31.975 million tons, a year-on-year decrease of 2.0%, accounting for 57.9% of global production; the stainless steel production in Asia (excluding China and South Korea) reported 7.411 million tons, down by 4.9% from the same period last year; other countries (Brazil, Russia, South Africa, South Korea and Indonesia) produced 7.557 million tons of stainless steel, a year-on-year decline of 9.1%.
