BEIJING (Asian Metal) 10 Apr 23 - Supported by the tight supply of raw material, the current mainstream prices of zircon sand 65%min in China hover at RMB15,300-15,600/t (USD2,220-2,264/t) EXW D/P, unchanged from early last week, while the spot market sees few deals from zirconium silicate plants
A producer in Guangdong disclosed that his current offer for zircon sand 65%min with whiteness 90 stands at RMB15,500/t (USD2,249/t) EXW D/P with no discount supported by the high prices of intermediate zircon ore, and he offered RMB15,800/t (USD2,293/t) and sold 100t at RMB15,500/t (USD2,249/t) early last week. "Most clients still keep reluctant to purchase zircon sand 65%min and prefer to buy zircon sand 60-63%min to lower production cost due to the remaining sluggish demand of zirconium silicate," revealed the producer last Friday . He added that their output in March increased by about 500t to 1,500t, and he holds bearish attitudes towards the increasing supply while weak demand in the market, and he predicts the mainstream prices of zircon sand 65%min might go down next week.
With an annual production capacity of 24,000t, the producer expects to output around 1,500t in April, unchanged from last month, holding about 1,000t in stock.
Another producer in Hainan revealed that their output of zircon sand in March increased by at least 1,000t to 3,000t and would reach 4,000t in April upon the good profit, while the orders from zirconium silicate plants remains waned. D.P covered the logistic of RMB200/t (USD29/t) with discount, and I didn't close any deals this week, and I last sold 120t at RMB15,800/t (USD2,293/t) early last week," revealed the producer last Friday .
