Dalang Metallurgy increases silicomanganese production

BEIJING (Asian Metal) 10 Apr 23 - Chongqing Dalang Metallurgy New Materials Co., one of the major silicomanganese Mn 65%min, Si 17%max, P 0.25%max, S 0.08%max producers in China, plans to increase their production in April, a source from this company revealed to Asian Metal.
The source mentioned, "We predict to produce around 48,000t of silicomanganese Mn 65%min, Si 17%max, P 0.25%max, S 0.08%max this month as we would complete the update of equipment in the middle of April, while we only produced around 40,000t in March". The producer plans to produce nearly 55,000t in May.
The producer, based on the annual production capacity of 600,000t of silicomanganese Mn 65%min, Si 17%max, P 0.25%max, S 0.08%max, intends to produce around 48,000t in April, up by approximately 8,000t from the previous month. They produced around 530,000t in 2022 and plan to produce nearly 650,000t in 2023.
Given the high production costs despite the soft demand, the current mainstream prices for silicomanganese Mn 65%min, Si 17%max, P 0.25%max, S 0.08%max hover at RMB7,100-7,300/t (USD1,032-1,061/t) EXW D/P, in line with mid this week. Insiders believe the mainstream prices would move down in the following week given the increased stocks and the decreased prices of raw materials.
