Zhangjiagang United Copper resumes crude nickel sulfate production

BEIJING (Asian Metal) 5 Apr 23 Zhangjiagang United Copper Co., Ltd., one of major crude nickel sulfate producers in eastern China, resumed production after finishing equipment maintenance in mid-March and would produce about 280t in April.
"We began to suspend crude nickel sulfate production from last November to upgrade production equipment. Production was resumed after the maintenance was completed in mid-March, and we expect to produce about 280t in April", said the source, adding that two production lines are in operation at the moment.
With an annual production of 16,000t of crude nickel sulfate, they plan to produce about 5,500t this year and now hold no stocks in hand.
On Tuesday, mainstream prices for Chinese battery grade nickel sulfate Ni 22%min, Co 0.4%max stood at RMB34,500-35,000/t (USD5,013-5,086/t) delivered D/A, down by RMB200/t (USD29.06/t) from Monday. Insiders explained that market demand for battery grade nickel sulfate remains sluggish now and producers face relatively large sales pressure, so prices for Chinese battery grade nickel sulfate Ni 22%min, Co 0.4%max are expected to move down in the coming week.
