BEIIJING (Asian Metal) 4 Apr 23 - As overseas buyers are inactive in making purchases, the Chinese antimony ingot export market sees limited deals, and overseas buyers feel bearish on future price trends and prefer to wait on the sidelines. Mainstream export prices of Chinese antimony ingot 99.65%min stand at USD12,200-12,400/t FOB China currently, unchanged from late last week. In view of inactive deals on the market, insiders believe that mainstream export prices of Chinese antimony ingot 99.65%min would remain soft on the whole in the coming week.
An exporter in South China said, "We now quote USD12,500/t FOB China for antimony ingot 99.65%min in the export market and can sell at USD12,400/t to clients with real intention to buy. This week we made no sales yet. As prices on the international antimony market stay soft on the whole, a watchful sentiment is spreading; as a result, we made no sales for recent two weeks. We last export around 20t at USD12,800/t FOB China two weeks ago." According to the exporter, many overseas buyers reflect that they can buy antimony ingot at lower prices from other countries, which is why the Chinese antimony ingot export market sees inactive deals at present. In view of inactive deals on the export market and watchful sentiments among market players, the exporter believes that mainstream export prices of Chinese antimony ingot 99.65%min would decrease on the whole in the coming week.
With a regular monthly export volume of 200t of antimony ingot 99.65%min, the exporter expects to export about 100t this month, steady MOM. They totally exported about 1,200t in 2022 and hold no stocks at the moment, unchanged MOM.
Another exporter in South China said, "We now quote USD11,800/t CIF Europe for antimony ingot 99.65%min in the export market and can sell at USD11,600/t to clients with real intention to buy. As the goods are to be delivered from Thai ports, their prices are lower than prices in the Chinese domestic market. But the export market is inactive. We received no enquiries so far this week as overseas buyers commonly prefer to wait on the sidelines." According to the exporter, he last export around 20t at USD11,800/t one week ago. Considering weak overseas demand, the exporter believes that mainstream export prices of Chinese antimony ingot 99.65%min would remain soft on the whole in the coming week.
