Chinese LC ferromanganese producers hold prices unchanged

BEIJING (Asian Metal) 4 Apr 23 - Given the thin profit despite the weak downstream demand, most Chinese LC ferromanganese producers plan to hold their prices unchanged. Hence, the current mainstream prices of Chinese ferromanganese Mn 80%min C 0.7%max P 0.3%max S 0.02%max stay at RMB10,700-11,000/t (USD1,552-1,596/t) EXW D/P, in line with late last week. Given the sluggish demand, insiders predict that the mainstream prices of Chinese LC ferromanganese would decrease slightly in the following days.
A producer in South China disclosed, "We offer RMB10,700/t (USD1,552/t) EXW D/P for ferromanganese Mn 80%min C 0.7%max P 0.3%max S 0.02%max without concessions today, on par with late last week". The producer could not receive new orders and they only sold 100t at RMB10,800/t (USD1,567/t) in mid March. Due to the sluggish demand from downstream clients, the producer prefers to firm their current prices but believes that the mainstream prices of Chinese LC ferromanganese would edge down next week.
The producer, with an annual production capacity of 40,000t of Chinese ferromanganese Mn 80%min C 0.7%max P 0.3%max S 0.02%max, intends to produce about 1,000t in April, unchanged from the previous month. The producer holds no stock at present.
Another producer in South China mentioned that their quotation for ferromanganese Mn 80%min C 0.7%max P 0.3%max S 0.02%max remains unchanged at RMB10,900/t (USD1,581/t) EXW D/P and could agree to counteroffers of no more than RMB100/t (USD14/t), unchanged from late last week. The producer last sold 200t at RMB10,900/t (USD1,581/t) two weeks ago but received no inquiry today. As the downstream clients stay in no hurry to sell, the producer plans to decrease their price slightly and predicts that the mainstream prices of Chinese LC ferromanganese would decline slightly in the following week.
