A consumer in South China revealed that he purchased 60t of zirconium oxychloride 36%min Fe5-8ppm at RMB17,500/t (USD2,540/t) delivered D/P covered the logistic of RMB200/t (USD29/t) on Monday from a supplier who insisted on RMB17,800/t (USD2,583/t) early last week. "My consumption in March curtailed by at least 20% against February dragged by the shrinking orders of my ending products, and the major producer gave some discount to boot sales this week," revealed the consumer on Monday . He added that the zircon sand prices show downward trend, and he predicts the mainstream prices of zirconium oxychloride 36%min Fe5-8ppm in China still have room to go down next week.
The consumer, based on an annual consumption capacity of 1,500t of oxychloride 36%min, predicts to use around 90t in April, almost unchanged from last month, keeping around 50t in stock.
