Chinese titanium tetrachloride market prices to decrease

BEIJING (Asian Metal) 4 Apr 23 - As most consumers remained inactive in sending inquiries, Chinese titanium tetrachloride suppliers had no confidence in the past week. The mainstream prices of Chinese titanium tetrachloride 99.99%min hover at RMB7,500-7,700/t (USD1,089-1,118/t) EXW D/A 180 days at present, unchanged from early last week. As most suppliers plan to lower their prices to promote sales, insiders predict that the mainstream prices would show downtrend in the coming week.
A producer in South China claimed that they offered RMB7,500/t (USD1,089/t) EXW D/A 180 days for titanium tetrachloride 99.99%min and could accept no counteroffers today, the same as early last week. "We last sold about 200t at around RMB7,500/t (USD1,089/t) to a regular client early last week," said the producer, who received no other inquiry since then. Discouraged by weak demand from end users, the producer plans to lower their price by around RMB100/t (USD15/t) next week and predicts that the mainstream prices would decrease by around RMB100/t (USD15/t) in the coming week.
The producer, with an annual production capacity of 25,000t, produced around 1,500t in March, unchanged from February. They produced nearly 15,600t in 2022 and almost 4,000t so far in 2023. They hold around 700t of stocks at the moment, up by 100t from last month.
"Most of our regular suppliers quote RMB7,600/t (USD1,103/t) EXW D/A 180 days for titanium tetrachloride 99.99%min and could accept RMB7,500/t (USD1,089/t) for orders no less than 30t at the moment, while the most competitive price remained stable at the same level early last week," said a consumer in South China, who plans to delay purchasing until late April after they last bought around 30t at around RMB7,500/t (USD1,089/t) early last week. As most producers compete for limited orders, the consumer predicts that the mainstream prices would decrease by around RMB100/t (USD15/t) in the following week.
With an annual consumption capacity of 2,400t, the consumer consumed around 100t in March, unchanged MoM. They consumed almost 1,000t in 2022 and around 300t so far in 2023. They hold around 60t of stocks at present, the same as last month.
