BEIJING (Asian Metal) 31 Mar 23 - European indium ingot 99.995%min market ran slowly over the past month as downstream consumers' demand stayed weak. Suppliers generally have to wait for consumers to bid in April with stable offers. Currently, the mainstream prices of European indium ingot 99.995%min hover at USD220-225/kg in warehouse Rotterdam, the same as the end of last week. Market participants believe that the prevailing prices of European indium ingot 99.995%min would stay firm in the coming week driven by stable prices from suppliers.
A trader in European disclosed that they expect to sell no more than 500kg of indium ingot 99.995%min totally in March as their consumers generally refused to build more stocks with weak demand, while they still could sell almost 1t in February. They offer USD220/kg CIF US for indium ingot 99.995%min at present even for firm bids, the same as last month. They last sold around 100kg at USD250/kg early March. The source said, "We think that the prevailing prices of European indium ingot 99.995%min would stay firm in the coming week as we have no plan to change the prices currently."
The trader, with a regular monthly trading volume of 1.5t of indium ingot 99.995%min, holds more than 10t of stocks now, almost the same as late last month. They sold around 18t in 2022 and about 3t till now in 2023.
Another European trader noted that, "The market remains quiet and we only closed one order of around 300kg of indium ingot 99.995%min at USD225/kg in warehouse Rotterdam in the middle of this week, while failed to close another order of about 200kg at USD230/kg in warehouse Rotterdam early this week." They still insist on USD225/kg in warehouse Rotterdam for indium ingot 99.995%min at present, unchanged from the beginning of this week. They usually could sell around two or three orders a week before.
