Xiaoyi Yanfeng resumed calcined bauxite production

BEIJING (Asian Metal) 31 Mar 23 - A major calcined bauxite producer in Shanxi, Xiaoyi Yanfeng Refractory Materials Co., Ltd. resumed production on 20th March and predicted to produce about 7,000t in April.
"We suspended production since late August last year owing to the sluggish market demand and supply shortage of raw bauxite. We resumed on 20th March after the two sessions", a source from the company revealed, adding that they produced about 220t per day at present, having an output of nearly 2,000t this month and expect about 7,000t in April.
With a production capacity of 100,000tpy, the company produced about 30,000t in 2022, and expect to produce about 55,000t this year. They hold an inventory of nearly 2000t right now.
The current prevailing prices of calcined bauxite 85%min 1-3mm Fe2O3 2%max K2O+Na2O 0.45%max B.D. 3.1min stand at RMB2,450-2,550/t (USD356-371/t) EXW D/P in Shanxi, in line with early this week. The market saw limited deals due to the weak market demand. However, in light of the supply shortage of raw bauxite, market participants believe that the prevailing prices of Chinese calcined bauxite would keep steady in the coming week.
