    BEIJING (Asian Metal) 31 Mar 23 - Even though most suppliers held their prices unchanged today, they held pessimistic attitude about the market for decreased domestic prices and weak demand from the overseas.Asian Metal Copyright .Asian Metal Copyright Insiders hold the view that the mainstream export prices would slip in the coming week for weak demand from the overseas. The current mainstream export prices of Chinese ferrosilicon 72%min 10-50mm stand at USD1,440-1,470/t Ex-VAT FOB China, unchanged from yesterday.

    A trader from Henan disclosed, "Our export amount decreased by around 50% MoM due to no deals this week and we didn't receive any inquiry from late last week while we received two to three inquiries weekly before last week. We would lower the price next week because we held the pessimistic attitude towards the market and believe that the mainstream prices of Chinese ferrosilicon 72%min would decline in the following week". They insisted on exporting ferrosilicon 72%min at USD1,480/t Ex-VAT FOB China with a concession as much as USD10/t from yesterday and last sold 25t at USD1,480/t early last week.

    Based on the regular export volume of 300tpm, the trader expects to export about 200t in March, down by 100t from last month for sluggish demand. They don't have stock currently.

    Another trader in Henan mentioned that their export amount dropped over 50% from last month due to no deals from mid last week and they predict that the mainstream export prices of Chinese ferrosilicon 72%min would decrease in the coming week. "We closed two to three deals weekly before early last week and we last sold 100t at USD1,465/t early last week", the trader revealed. Their best price for ferrosilicon 72%min 10-50mm stood at USD1,465/t Ex-VAT FOB China today and they insisted on such price from early this week.

    The trader, with the typical monthly export volume of 600t, predicts to export around 200t in March, down by 300t from the previous month. They hold no stock currently.
