Zhaobo Industrial decreases HR strip output

BEIJING (Asian Metal) 30 Mar 23 - As a major producer of HR strip in Tianjin, Tianjin Zhaobo Industrial Co. (Zhaobo Industrial) would cut the production from about 55,000t in February to around 48,000t this month.
"We stopped the production for one week early this month and would just produce about 48,000t of HR strip in March, down by around 7,000t MoM," said a source of the company. According to him, they have an inventory of about 3,000t at present, down from around 6,000t at the beginning of this month.
Based on one HR strip production line of 650mm rolling mill and the annual production capacity of about 800,000t, the company produces HR strip with the width of 180-413mm and thickness of 1.5-5.75mm. It produced about 330,000t of HR strip in 2022 and around 75,000t in Jan-Feb of 2023.
The mainstream prices of HR strip Q195 235mm*2.5mm*C from Zhaobo Industrial stood at about RMB4,320/t (USD627/t) D/P in warehouse Tianjin on Wednesday, up by RMB30/t (USD4/t) compared with those on Tuesday. Insiders predict that Chinese HR strip prices would go down in the coming week due to customers' slow buying activities.
