Chinese fused magnesia export market sees stable price

BEIJING (Asian Metal) 24 Mar 23 –Most fused magnesia exporters kept their prices unchanged this week as the domestic suppliers refused to lower their prices. Therefore, the current mainstream export prices of Chinese fused magnesia MgO 97%min, Ca/Si=2min, B.D. 3.45min, 0-30mm stand at USD495-525/t T/T 30 days FOB China, in line with early this week. Given that most domestic suppliers held their prices stable, insiders predict that the mainstream export prices of Chinese fused magnesia would hover at the current level in the coming week.
An exporter from Yingkou said, "We offer USD530/t T/T 30 days FOB China for fused magnesia MgO 97%min, Ca/Si=2min, B.D. 3.45min, 0-30mm this week and could accept no counteroffer, unmoved from early this week". They offered USD530/t to a Japanese client who wanted to buy 150t but they believe it not a firm bid and last sold around 250t at such price early this month. Given high prices of raw materials and dim market, they predict that the mainstream export prices of Chinese fused magnesia would stand stable in the upcoming week.
Based on a regular monthly export volume of 500t, they estimate to export about 400t in March, compared with around 700t last month. They have no inventory currently.
Another exporter in Yingkou noted, "We quoted USD510/t T/T 30 days FOB China and refused any lower prices for fused magnesia MgO 97%min, Ca/Si=2min, B.D. 3.45min, 0-30mm since early this week", adding that they last sold approximately 500t at such price early last week. Considering stable domestic prices, they prefer to hold their price firm and believe that the mainstream export prices of Chinese fused magnesia would stay steady in the following week.
With a regular monthly export volume of 1,000t, they predict to export about 800t in March, unchanged MoM. They hold no stocks at present.
