Weiyue Aluminum to increase aluminum bar production

BEIJING (Asian Metal) 23 Mar 23 - Sichuan Weiyue Aluminum Co., Ltd., one of the major aluminum bar producers in Southwest China, plans to restart two smelting furnaces on March 26 and expects to produce about 6,000t of aluminum bar in March.
"We currently operate two 38-ton smelting furnaces and plan to restart the remaining two 38-ton smelting furnaces on March 26. We expect to see a production of around 6,000t in March, up from about 4,500t in February," a source from the company said, adding that the output might reach around 10,000t in April.
With an annual production capacity of 120,000t, the company went into operation in June 2022 and produced about 18,000t throughout 2022, holding no stock now.
On Wednesday, TCs for Chinese aluminum bar 6063 φ120mm in warehouse Wuxi stood at RMB490-530/t (USD71.67-77.52/t) EXW D/P, up by RMB10/t (USD1.46/t) from Tuesday. Insiders said that the demand for aluminum bar keeps strong and producers hold sufficient orders at present, so Chinese aluminum bar 6063 φ120mm TC would move up in the coming week.
