SPIC Guinea restarts normal bauxite production

BEIJING (Asian Metal) 23 Mar 23 - SPIC International Investment & Development (Guinea) Co., a major bauxite producer in Guinea, restarted normal operation from early this month and would produce around 600,000t in March, a source from the company reported to Asian Metal.
"We might produce 600,000t in March, up from around 400,000t last month," said the source, who once cut production for the strike and holds no stock now.
With the annual production capacity of 8 million tonnes, they produced around 5 million tonnes in 2022 and target over 7 million tonnes in 2023.
Present mainstream prices for Guinean bauxite Al2O3 45%min SiO2 3%max keep at USD65.5-67.5/dt CIF China, stable from one week ago. Before the rainy season starting from Q3, bauxite producers in Guinea increased production.
